After a heated week at the U.N. General Assembly, a new ceasefire proposal between the U.S. and Iran came and apparently went.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused US President Donald Trump of a "bullying ​mentality" at the United Nations on Wednesday, saying Iran would not surrender in the war with the ‌US but remained open to diplomacy to end the conflict.

Sources tell CBS News that despite warnings about the vulnerability of the outpost in Kuwait, a commander opted not to rebase farther from Iran.

President Trump has rejected Iran’s offer to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within a week, in exchange for the U.S. lifting its blockade, easing oil sanctions and agreeing to a ceasefire including Lebanon. Trump posted an image calling the waterway ‘Trump Strait’ as he rebuffed Tehran’s proposal.

Tanker Trackers estimated that the total amount of crude oil exiting the U.S. blockade line is now 13 million barrels per day.

Saudi Arabia’s top cleric has issued a rare statement, calling on the kingdom’s troops to defend the country from neighboring Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels. Meanwhile, the humanitarian situation in Yemen is deteriorating as fighting escalates, further straining the country’s overstretched health sector.
